Description
Music and dance education greatly help in academic studies. It develops abstract reasoning necessary for academic success and mathematics and science. Music improves the ability of higher-level thinking. Music and dance increase intelligence. Music does so, firstly, by optimal and harmonious development of the entire brain (Left and Right brain). Furthermore, certain brain areas developed by musical training are also related to learning academic subjects. For example, rhythm sense is related to spatial-temporal understanding, which is essential for Maths.
This also ensures success in Life. Practicing music develops qualities of teamwork, communication skills, self-discipline, confidence, and creativity. These are very much required in life and the workplace. Participation in music enhances a student’s creativity. Musical improvisation can teach us improvisation in life, also. Music also teaches us discipline, determination, and confidence so valuable in life.
